Bicycling on sidewalks should be kept (or made) illegal because it is about 20 times more likely to result in motor vehicle-bicycle collisions than riding on the road. There is no excuse for riding on sidewalks. I don’t see anything in this article that backs up the conclusion: “When bicyclists follow the rules, sidewalk bicycle riding can be safe.”

Bicycling on sidewalks should be kept (or made) illegal because it is about 20 times more likely to result in motor vehicle-bicycle collisions than riding on the road. There is no excuse for riding on sidewalks.
