Eugene 08 Olympic Trials offers free valet bike parking
To celebrate Earth Day, the Eugene 08 organizers announced on April 22 that during the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field, spectators and Festival patrons who ride their bikes (or scooters or skateboards) to Hayward Field will have free valet parking. The Center for Appropriate Transport will staff the bike parking area on the basketball courts on 15th Street between Agate and Moss. The free valet parking will be open during all 10 days of Eugene 08. “We hope that many people will consider riding their bikes to Hayward Field” said Greg Erwin, Co-Chair of the Local Organizing Committee. “Riding a bike – or a skateboard – will be one of the most efficient and sustainable ways of getting to the event.”
